For product and engineering leaders

Build AI features
into your product.

Make one defined capability part of the product experience, with quality checks and operating costs visible.

Start with the user

Useful in the
real workflow.

Document assistance, information retrieval, classification or a bounded action inside an existing product.

Confirm that users need the feature and that the required data can be used. Choose the technology around those constraints.

A defined first release

  • User scenario, UX and failure states
  • Representative data and evaluation criteria
  • Integration with the existing application
  • Cost and latency per operation
  • Staging validation and a rollout decision

Planning your implementation

Design the feature around the user’s next action

Make sources and uncertainty visible

For a knowledge assistant, define which sources it can use, how permissions apply and what happens when the answer is absent. For extraction or classification, specify the accepted output and the review path for uncertain cases. A useful interface lets users inspect the evidence, correct the result and continue their work.

Release to a bounded audience

Choose a first group, representative tasks and a baseline for the current experience. Evaluate task completion, output quality, response time and the full operating cost, including human review. Start with a controlled release and use those observations to decide whether to improve, expand or stop the feature.

Keep product ownership clear

Your product owner decides which user problem matters and what is acceptable. Engineering owns integration and release checks; the operating team owns incidents and exceptions. Agree those responsibilities alongside the implementation so a successful demonstration can become a supported product capability.
